Stone plaza fountain

Octagonal town-square fountain in dressed limestone ashlar: a 3.6 m basin with a moulded coping at seat height, a central pedestal and turned column carrying an upper bowl with four plain carved spouts and a knop finial, and still water in the basin and bowl as a separate swappable surface. Weathered: lime scale and green algae at the water line, dark wet streaks under the spouts, moss in the coping joints, lichen on the outer faces and a carved date.
