Oak torsion ballista (stylized)

Stylized cartoon version: chunky shapes with big rounded edges, thickened parts, a toy-like wider base and slightly hand-made wobble; bold flat colours with painted light (darker low down, lighter on top), small hardware and fine detail removed. Large two-armed torsion ballista (bolt thrower), 2.9 m long and 2.1 m across the arms, on a turning trestle stand: an iron-bound oak spring frame with two twisted sinew skeins in iron washers, tapered oak arms, a sinew bowstring, a sliding stock with bolt trough and two-fingered trigger claw, and a ratchet windlass with handspikes. Oiled dark oak with a burnt legion brand, frayed greasy sinew, rusty wrought-iron fittings and hand-polished handspikes; traverses, elevates and cocks.
