Wide stone steps, 9 risers

Broad flight of weathered dressed-limestone steps, 4 m wide and 1.35 m high in nine 0.15 m risers, as up to a church, town hall or castle courtyard: long jointed step blocks between low raking cheek walls with square capped end blocks and a flagged landing flush with the top. Treads hollowed in two walking lanes, rounded and chipped nosings, grime in the tread corners, moss in the joints and at the cheek feet, damp at the base.
