Stylized cartoon version: chunky shapes with big rounded edges, thickened parts, a toy-like wider base and slightly hand-made wobble; bold flat colours with painted light (darker low down, lighter on top), small hardware and fine detail removed. Straight timber interior staircase for a 3.0 m storey: 17 closed painted risers, 16 varnished oak treads on a 255 mm going with a bullnose first step, two solid stained-oak strings, newel posts with turned caps, a moulded handrail and square painted balusters on the open side and stepped skirting against the wall; treads worn through the varnish, scuffed risers, a loose baluster and a darkened handrail.
