Low stone parapet wall, 2 m

Waist-high dressed sandstone parapet wall, a 2 m straight module 1.0 m high and 0.4 m thick with saddleback coping stones that overhang both faces, for bridges, wall-walks and terraces. Both faces are coursed pitch-faced ashlar with recessed lime-mortar joints and a projecting base course; heavy wear: chipped arrises, spalled blocks, eroded joints, rising damp, moss and lichen, efflorescence, run-off streaks below the coping joints, a rust stain from a lead-run iron cramp and carved mason's marks and initials.
